This question is difficult to answer without having the benefit of knowing the specific circumstances that prompts such an inquiry.
The New Jersey expungement statutes are set forth in N.J.S.A. 2C:52-1 to N.J.S.A. 2C:52-32. By definition, the particular circumstances that prompts the question by an individual seeking to expunge a criminal or quasi-criminal matter can only be answered if the even sought to be expunged is presented to the attorney for his consultation.
However, an individual who was convicted of more than one crime or criminal offense at a particular time, who has not been subsequently convicted of either a crime or criminal offense within the statutory expiration period thereafter, can seek to have multiple convictions expunged in the same petition.
It should be emphasized again that the particular circumstances of the prior conviction or convictions are critical in determining the extent or scope of the request expungement.
